Headshots

I just wanted to take a moment to talk about head shots. They are very important for a person's business image. I mean you wouldn't just use a marker and a piece of card board to make your sign or logo. So why would you use an old outdated snap shot to portray yourself??

Whether you are an actor, politician, CEO, or even a photographer you have likely needed a head shot at some point in your career. Maybe it was for a campaign, a business card, a website, or an audition. No matter what the use, the head shot is an important tool for identification, even name recognition. So it is important that you have a head shot that represents you in your best light. Natural and approachable. And of coarse flattering.........nothing is more unflattering than a big old flash bouncing off your face while you are standing right up next to a wall!
That's just a little something to think about the next time you open a newspaper or check out a website.
And now I am off to change the business world one head shot at a time.

Tanya.....fabulous friend and wedding coordinator extraordinaire.

A little fish eye lens fun with the wedding party.

Yesterday was beautiful day.....the weather was great and I was part of a fabulous wedding. I did a little double duty....bridesmaid/photographer! Not something I would recommend to everyone but I would do anything for Angie and Warren. They are 2 of the greatest friends anyone could have.

The day was filled with lots of love and great times. It went off without a hitch.....well according to me anyways. I am a big believer in everything happens for a reason.....so when the music failed and the first dance was delayed, it was obvious that in side the hall was not meant to be. And it couldn't have been more perfect if it had been planned to have this dance outside as the sun went down.....thanks to the best man's car stereo system.
(The music started working again later....)

I hope you enjoy a few shots from the day!

Prenatal

Here is a little look at a recent prenatal session. We got some beautiful shots. Some were obviously of a very personal nature.....so I am choosing not to display them on the Internet. But here are a couple favorites with Mom and big sister to be!

Enjoy,

More Happy Graduation Wishes!

I met up with the Findlay Family this past Saturday for a graduation/family portrait. It was a whirl wind kind of shoot but we got the basics covered before the family was due at the banquet. I hope they had a great time.

All the best,
Jill

Lisa and Cameron

It was great to get together with Lisa and Cameron last weekend for their E Session. We went for an urban setting, specifically Whyte Ave. as it is a special place for them. We got some fantastic shots. Thanks so much for the opportunity to capture your relationship and tell your story! I look forward to photographing the wedding on Aug 2nd.

Enjoy,
Jill

Meow!

Even though I have the best job in the world, I still like to take the time and do personal projects. These projects are my time to play and experiment. To create images that are sometimes outside of my everyday realm. Here are a couple shots I did about a month ago. I was inspired to create this last winter. While Christmas shopping I came across this mask and couldn't walk away without purchasing it. I didn't need it but I was struck by its strange beauty.........so this is what I came with.

Enjoy,

Elashia

A great shoot with a beautiful graduate! Here is a sneak peek of my shoot with Elashia.....well not really a sneak..... more like an open door. I kind of got a little excited and chose a few favorites.
Anyway, Elashia will be taking part in graduation celebrations over the next few days. I wish her all the best for her future. Have a great time!

Make sure to check out her shoes.....they rock!

Enjoy,
Jill
